What type of surface can you transform for Dry Erase use ?
Wryte Dry Erase film is developed and designed for varying surfaces. There are self-adhesive films that are perfect for smooth surface such as glass window, existing whiteboards or chalkboards,or laminated wood. There are also film for direct application onto painted drywall. Wryte is not recommended for use on cinder block, brick ,wallpaper or heavily textured surfaces. There are ways to transform these heavily textured surfaces into Dry Erase surfaces, reach out to us here and we'll advise you.

How to prepare the surface?
Surfaces to be transformed into Dry Erase wall must be clean, as smooth as possible, dry and structurally sound. It must not contain loose paint, nail heads, nick, gouges or other surface imperfections. For best results, gently clean the surface with isopropyl rubbing alcohol (70%) and allow to dry for 10 minutes. If the surface have been recently painted, allow paint to cure according to paint instructions, wipe it clean before applying your Wryte Dry Erase Film.
Yes, you may cut Wryte film to Your desired size. How?
Wryte Dry Erase Film can be cut to size using a variety of cutting tools including scissors, sharp box cutters or utility knives. Use a straight edge, such as a ruler to ensure straight cut. Before cutting the film, always confirm the size of the area you wish to cover by measuring the surface carefully as many times as necessary. Take caution when handling edges of the film as they may be sharp. Do not fold or bend the film as that can result in permanent damage to the film.
If the area is big and you foresee difficulty in aligning the self-adhesive film onto the desired area perfectly, you may, you may cut the film with 1 to 2 cm excess at the side and trim off the excess after applying the film.
What type of writing tool can you use?
For Wryte Whiteboard Film, only use good whiteboard markers and whiteboard erasers. The brand that has been widely use is Pilot Vboard Master. You may of course try other brands of whiteboard markers. When switching to new brands of markers, conduct a test at the side of the Wryte Whiteboard to ensure suitability.
For Wryte Chalkboard Film, the standard old-school chalk is the best. However, if you prefer to use liquid chalk or chalk markers that are often used for writing on glass surfaces, please try only the waterbase ones. Again, conduct a test at the side of your Wryte Chalkboard before heavy usage as there are simply too many different brands of markers with different chemical content, it is often not easy to determine if it contains oily element or not.
Do not use:
✘ permanent markers
✘ ball point pens or pencils
✘ hard or sharp object. Be careful of the whiteboard or chalkboard duster's plastic holder, some poorly designed ones scratches the surface easily.
How to clean and maintain Wryte Dry Erase Film?
Easy. Clean whiteboard with foam duster, whiteboard duster or dry-cloth after use. For chalkboard film, you may use foam duster, chalkboard duster or dry-cloth after use. To reduce waste, we recommend dry cloth which you may wash and reuse regularly. If you choose to use dusters, be mindful that the duster holder should not cause scratches during use. Consider Wryte Foam Duster that is completely made of foam material.
For stubborn stains, clean surface with water or damp cloth, avoid using abrasive cleaning agents or chemical. If damp cloth isn’t effective enough, spray a little Wryte eco-whiteboard cleaner on the stains, leave for a minute before wiping stains off with a clean cloth. For durability, regular cleaning (e.g. every fortnight) with damp cloth is recommended. That way you won't have to deal with stubborn stains.
Other safety guideline?
Keep Wryte away from the heat source and high temperature. This applies to all material with adhesive. For Wryte film with magnet base (Our AM50 type, not available online), keep magnetic cards (credit cards etc) away to avoid magnetic field interference that may result in malfunction. This does not apply to our MG50 solutions as they are with metal base and not magnet base.
