Vicinity Whiteboard Paint Application Guide

Generally to transform a wall into a WHITE whiteboard painted wall, you will require:

  1. Proper repair of existing wall or new drywall with smooth finishing.Whiteboard paint will only be as smooth as the wall it is applied to. Rough areas, dents and holes must be repaired prior to painting to ensure good writing surface.
  2. Seal wall with good wall primer (e.g Nippon solvent-based primer) for all new drywall. For existing wall, it's advisable to sand off loose paint and primer and seal wall again with fresh coat of good primer. When primer dries, we recommend light sanding to remove residue or any roughness.
  3. Vicinity White undercoat paint (1 to 2 coats until wall is evenly white). When undercoat dries, we recommend light sanding to remove paint residue or any roughness.

 

Apply Vicinity WHITE Whiteboard paint

Vicinity paint works well as single coat solution, HOWEVER, to ensure thorough and consistent coverage, you may choose to apply 2 coats.
Apply this only when undercoat is fully dried (recommended to leave overnight) and when surrounding is clean and dust-free.

For double coat application:

  1. Add 50ml water to full kit mixture to get a nice consistency for application. STIR THOROUGHLY FOR APPROX 3 Minutes. DO NOT SHAKE PAINT. PREVENT BUBBLES FORMING WHILE STIRRING
  2. Apply as instructed or as shown in demonstration or video.
  3. DO NOT APPLY TOO MUCH PRESSURE
  4. ENSURE THOROUGH COVERAGE ON EVERY AREA YOU PAINT
  5. AVOID DRIP LINES ON WALL
  6. AVOID GOING BACK TO PAINTED AREAS WHEN PAINT IS DRYING.
  7. LEAVE TO DRY FOR AT LEAST 3 hours before preparing for second coat. You may also leave first coat overnight before second coat.
  8. Second coat will only take 30-40% of the paint amount as compared to first coat.
  9. ONLY GLIDE WITH LITTLE TO NO PRESSURE FOR SECOND COAT.
  10. Painted surface will be touched dry only after 6-8 hours.
  11. Leave Vicinity Whiteboard wall to cure for 5 days before testing with whiteboard markers. Please refer to user guide maintenance and usage guidelines.
